Mix Different Lengths
The golden rule of necklace layering is to vary the lengths. When all your pieces sit at the same level, they naturally tangle. Instead, start with a choker or short chain, add a mid-length pendant, and finish with a longer necklace that falls just above your chest.

Combine Different Chain Styles
Use texture to your advantage. Mixing different chain types adds contrast and, more importantly, reduces friction. Similar chains tend to catch on each other, while varied ones glide more easily.
